3D printed meat!

Israeli firm 'Redefine Meat' is using 3D printing technology to produce plant-based steak designed to mimic real meat and plans to start selling them in restaurants later this year.

They use the protein taken from plants to build up the layers using 3D printer to produce plant-based meat. They have identified that the muscle, the blood and the fat are the components that are needed to bring the cuts of the steak and worked to mimic these to produce this vegetarian meat.

The companies which are involved in producing this 3D meat claim that their meat is not only healthy since it is less in cholesterol but also environmental friendly than natural farming as UN highlights that methane emitted by cattle is one of the major contributors to climate change. This technology may address both humanitarian and environmental issues involved in animal rearing.
